Construction of Musical Instruments for Introducing Musical Idioms I Nikolas Tsaftaridis - Undergraduate - (A+) Faculty of Early Childhooh Education, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Every region and era is characterized by specific musical stylistic idioms and styles. The nature of available musical instruments is one determinant of such differences. The course uses the construction of certain musical instruments as a starting point for exploring various musical idioms and styles. It consists of seminars acquainting students with musical culture, but also workshops of constructing musical instruments.
English and Digital Literacies Bessie Mitsikopoulou - Undergraduate - (A-) English Language and Literature, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens This introductory course deals with the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in English language teaching. The course deals with issues such as evaluation of educational software and websites, incorporation of ICT in the foreign language curriculum and the exploitation of the digital literacy that students bring to class from their everyday encounters with the new media. The Digital School project is also being presented and analyzed (its objectives and outcomes). Students have the opportunity to review the digital resources that have been prepared for the English state textbooks.
ELT Methods and Practices Bessie Dendrinos - Undergraduate - (A+) Faculty of English Language and Literature, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens ELT Methods and Practices is a core course in our undergraduate programme and an essential component of the ELT Pre-service Training Programme that our Faculty offers. It is a degree requirement course and therefore compulsory for all students like the course of Applied Linguistics to ELT, which is its prerequisite. It is intended to provide students with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to teach English as a ‘foreign’ or additional language.
