This introductory lesson deals with the birth and the evolution of the architectural form of the (greek and roman) theatre.

The learning objective is to earn general knowledge of the main aspects of ancient theatre and drama.

The form of the orchestra. The evolution of the form of the scene building. The differences between the greek and the roman theatre. Vitruvius. Forma Udbis Romae. Some of the most famous theatres of the greek and roman antiquity. Depiction of drama.
