Introduction to separation techniques


Objectives

This website is addressed to third-year students of the University of Patras Pharmacy Division. It includes the theoretical framework and laboratory exercises - examples of application of electrochemical techniques and separation techniques in the analysis of pharmaceutical formulations and pharmaceutical active substances. The aim of the course is to familiarize students with separation techniques .


Prerequisites

Βasic knowledge in Physical Chemistry is necessary , which students have received in the previous year,in order to understand the theory and the successful conduct of exercises. The basic principles of the analytical techniques included in the course of Instrumental Analysis I are also necessary.


Syllabus

Introduction to chromatographic methods of separation,Gas chromatography,Liquid chromatography,Electrophoresis,Ion- exchange chromatography,Thin Layer Chromatography.
