Country Planning

The lesson of 'Planning' is a compulsory subject of the School of Rural and Surveying Engineering (S.A.T.M.) NTUA The objective of this course is to acquire the theoretical and methodological background which, combined with the knowledge gained from other courses in the design space, but also the infrastructure of Surveying Engineering methods and measurement tools / performance of spatial information, will allow autonomous elaboration of spatial development projects. Apart from these, the training program also aims to lead the student to a level which would allow, if desired, to later proceed to postgraduate studies.

Objectives

The objective of this course is to support students from a theoretical and methodological point of view, so you can prepare one self or spatial development study. Particular emphasis is given to the methodological approach and the use of methods and tools for building and evaluating alternatives / scenarios for overcoming the problems of the design space.

Prerequisites

To tackle the problems dealing with the subject of Planning is useful for students to have gained knowledge about: Methods of management of spatial information Geographic Information Systems Cartographic performance information Assessment Methods in schediamso space

Syllabus

The lesson of the 'Planning' is a compulsory subject of the School of Rural and Surveying Engineering (SRSE) NTUA The objective of this course is to acquire the theoretical and methodological background which, combined with the knowledge gained from other courses in the area of design, but also the infrastructure of Surveying Engineering methods and measurement tools / performance of spatial information, will allow autonomous planning and preparation of development plans.   The course includes theoretical and applied part (2 + 2 hours per week).   The theoretical part consists of a series of lectures on the following topics: Introductory concepts in spatial planning Alternative approaches to the design of space Methodology development of spatial plans Methodology for building scenarios Process evaluation scenarios - Assessment Methods Build policy packages Spatial planning in Greece - Evolution - Legislative Framework European Union and Regional Planning The applied part relates to the preparation of teamwork teams of two. The paper refers to the preparation of a study on different spatial regions (provinces) of the country and developed into individual stages, preceded by discussion each stage while presenting examples to consolidate the concepts and content of each stage. The support of students from the educational team of the course is continuous and effective at all stages of development work.
