The main objectives of the course are: the definition of the Educational Psychology, the discription of its aims the understanding of its main concepts issiues and claims. By the end of the course the special educators should acknowledge the important issues that contempory educational psychology is discussing

Organizational issues and enrichment of the knowledge about the field of the Educational Psychology The concept of cognitive and social development in infancy in the first and middle school age (special emphasis would be given on the programs existing and putting in practice in the education field) Differences between and within students (how culture can influence the teaching methods and the learning process per se how the social-ecomical status the nationality the sex the life-experience the second language can exert major influences in the process of learning) Behavioral theories of learning (what is their impact on our understanding of the learning process) Information processing theories and cognitive theories of learning What is considered as an effective processes of teaching Accommodating theteaching method in order to be more adjusting to students' individual needs Incentives motives and how these can form an effective learning enviroment Evaluation of learning process with the use of typical and atypical methods
