Introduction to Natural Sciences and Scientific Culture II


The course provides an opportunity for students to familiarize themselves with objects, events, phenomena, concepts, methods and the cultural content of Natural Sciences, as a continuation of the course "Introduction to Natural Sciences and Scientific Culture I".


Objectives

Students who will choose this course are going to acquire on the one hand skills related to the experimental approach of the subjects, already studied in the compulsory course "Introduction to Natural Sciences and Scientific Culture I" and on the other to relate these knowledge and skills to practice in Natural Sciences in kindergartens. The course is linked to the Practice of the Department and each module will be linked to the cognitive abilities of children in early childhood, as well as activities that can be designed and take place in kindergarten.


Prerequisites

The monitoring of the compulsory subject in the 2nd year "Introduction to Natural Sciences and Scientific Culture I".


Syllabus

Laboratory approach to sections (a) Sound and ultrasound, (b) Light, shadows and color, (c) Energy in the lab, at home and in society.
