Cognitive development


The aim of this course is to examine basic theoretical views of how children think. At the end of the course is expected that students will have specialized on various theoretical aspects of psychology around themes of learning and cognitive development and also will can answer two basic questions about children's thinking: "What grows? "and" How is development?

Syllabus

The course will move on two main axes. Initially they will present the theoretical views on cognitive development, such as the Piaget theory, Vygotsky's approach and processing of information. Then they examined six specific aspects of children's thinking: perception, speech, memory, understanding concepts, resolving problem and the development of reading, writing, mathematics and natural sciences.
