ACCOUNTING I


The course presents basic issues of Financial Accounting. The purpose of the course is to analyse the accounting concepts and principles and to prepare the interested parties in order to hundle issues like records of accounting events and syntax of financial statements.


Objectives

Based on lectures, students obtain basic knowledege on accounting concepts and principle and become capable of hundling cases like record of accounting events and syntax of financial statements.


Prerequisites

No prerequisites.


Syllabus

The course includes thematic units related to basic issues of Financial Accounting. The thematic units which are analysed follow: Unit 1. Introduction to Accounting Unit 2. Basic Financial Statements: Balance Sheet Unit 3. Accounting Result - The Income Statement Unit 4. Accounting Event- Accounts Unit 5. Record of Accounting Events - Accounting Books Unit 6. Accounting of Inventories Unit 7. Accounting of Fixed Assets Unit 8. Accounting of Short Term Liabilities Unit 9. Transition Accounts -Closing Entries Unit 10. Greek Accounting Standards
