Objectives

• The objective is to understand basic concepts of nursing. • Upon completion of the course the student will be able: 1. Describe key elements of the history of Nursing 2. To understand the current position in History 3. Explain the concept of care over time, 4. To understand the way in which history has influenced the development of nursing 5. To understand the formation of modern nursing. 6. To explore the conceptual, theoretical, scientific and philosophical basis of Nursing. 7. To analyze the academic field of nursing science 8. Understand a variety of nursing theories 9. Implement the theoretical models and nursing theories in nursing practice.
