Statistics I

Upon completion of the lectures the student will: 1.It has knowledge of the basic concepts of the theory of probability and statistics 2. Has knowledge of basic statistical measures of central tendency and dispersion 3. Has knowledge of the characteristics of the basic theoretical probability distributions 4. Understand the methodology for the collection, processing and presentation of statistical data 5 . Applies methods statistical inference (confidence intervals and statistical tests) 6. Apply the methodology of least squares (OLS)

Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will acquire knowledge and skills thus given the opportunity to: • consider role and statistical applications, particularly in economic problems. • Consider basic statistical concepts and the physical interpretation of the statistical aggregates. • It is applied simply and statistical methodology to understand and interpret statistical findings. • It uses specialized statistical analysis software for the analysis of real (major) problems.

Prerequisites

Required-Wish to have students basic knowledge of Mathematics and Statistics Authorities.

Syllabus

STATISTICS I: The course aims to introduce the basic concepts of statistics, the presentation of the collection methodology, organization and presentation of statistical data, the description of the main theoretical probability distributions, the capacity acquisition solve simple probability problems, combinatorial analysis, confidence intervals and perform statistical tests, acquaintance with regression and analysis of variance and general familiarity with the methods of statistics as a tool for decision making.
