Principles and Institutions of Law


main notions-distinctions, sources of law, definition, the law as a legal, political and social phenomenon, historical development, theories and functions of law, fundamental notions and institutions of private and public law.


Objectives

The course attempts to get the students accustomed to the historical evolution, the basic theories and concepts of law. Moreover, the students get introduced to the methological tools of the law science. In the end of the course, the student is expected to lnow and understand the concepts, differentiations and the sources of law, the law as a politic and social phenomenon, the historical evolution, theories and functions of the law, as well as basic concepts and constitutions of private and public law.


Prerequisites

General Knowledge of Lyceum graduate. There are no prerequisite subjects.


Syllabus

In this course, the main notions, characteristics, distinctions and sources of law are being analyzed. The law is approached as a legal, political and social phenomenon, furthermore the historical development, theories and functions of law, as well as fundamental notions and institutions of private and public law are presented.
