Introduction to ICT.


This course is an introduction to basic concepts of ICT and also describes the PC (computer parts, peripherals and software ). Additionally there are broad issues relating to networks and communications, and finally we suggest ways for using ICT in education.


Objectives

The main objective of the course is to introduce students in information technology. Especially, the use of PC, ICT, the use of online resources and the Microsoft Office, (Word - PowerPoint). • The main goal of this course is the understanding of the use of computers and ICT in general in the educational practice.

No specific requirements needed.

1. Introduction to the subject of the course. 2. PC, description. Hardware: CPU , input and output units (description and parts ) . 3. Software. 4. Introduction to Word, PowerPoint, online tools. 5. Introduction to Networks and Communications. 6. Introduction to New Technologies 7. Distance Learning (definition, d-learning e-learning, m-learning, MOOCs, Webinars). 8. Applications of Computers to Education. 9. Life-long Learning.
