HYGIENE


Introduction to hygiene, medical prevention and health promotion and tackling public health problems.


Objectives

Understanding the disciplines of hygiene and food safety, water and water supplies of food hygiene, the basic principles of medical ecology and health of the workplace and of epidemiology and prevention of nosocomial infections.

Syllabus

Introduction to the concepts of Public Health, Prevention and Health Promotion. Healthy environment. Introduction to environmental toxicology. Healthy water. Healthy food. Pollution of the atmosphere. Climate. Elements of Medical Demography (collect demographic data, mortality, fertility, population structure). Introduction to Epidemiology (descriptive epidemiology, morbidity measurement, general epidemiology of infectious diseases, epidemiological models, analytical epidemiology, types of epidemiological studies, molecular and genetic epidemiology). Human and basic nutrition principles. Nutrition and Health. Epidemiology of infectious diseases. Types epidemics. Epidemiology of chronic diseases. Special Epidemiology heart disease and tumors. Modern lifestyle and health. Major risk factors for chronic diseases (smoking, obesity, other factors). Epidemiology and prevention of accidents. Basic Occupational Medicine information. Introduction to Health Systems and Health Policies. Sensitive Social Groups and Public Health.
