Contemporary dance:history, education, synthesis and choreography


Practical and theoretical approach which concerns history, education, synthesis and choreography of contemporary dance.


Objectives

1. Comprehension of the importance of dance for its natural, physical and psycho-emotional development of a person and for the cultivation of the aesthetic sensibility and education. 2. Develop skills through activities, games, incentives related to the structure of the movement and to the development of the cognitive, factual, emotional, creative aspect of a person. 3. Create conditions which lead to the development of ideas, by finding solutions and deepening in creating ways of choreography.

There are no prerequisites.


Syllabus

1st Module: Body. Definition of body as a whole. 2nd Module: Definitions of Dance. Definition through the acrostic of dance. 3rd Module: History of dance. Representatives of modern dance. 4th Module: From the method of creative expression kinetics of R.V. Laban and the expressive dance of Isadora Duncan to the dance theatre of Pina Baush. 5th Module: Structural analysis of movement. Perception of movement in space, time, flow, in terms of energy. 6th Module: Basic guidelines for the teaching of contemporary dance. Creative method, with which we look at the contemporary dance (as a part of general education). Its content is not about technical performance but exercises, activities and games with contemporary dance, opportunities and options for study in creative dance. Combinations of movements. Ways of creating kinetic continuity / flow. 7th Module: Dance teaching methodology in education.Imitation model of a combination of movements to control the body, to apply and acquire them. 8th Module: Contact improvisation. Preparation for movement. Fear of touch and "ice breakers"games. Security. Trust. Methods of investigation of the contact point.Exercise senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste. Lifting Techniques and Weight maintenance. 9th Module: Dance theatre. From the word in motion, from the dramatic dance theater, to the text flow and body text in dramaturgy. Body and narration. Principles of presence, composition and choreography. 10th Module: Happening, Performance, Site specific. Method of performing work in progress.
