The European Theatre of the 20th century 1900-1960.


The movements in the historic forefront: Symbolism, Expressionism, Futurism, Dada, Surrealism. Theatre in the the middle war time: the "epic theatre" of Brecht, the "theatre of cruelty" by Artaud, the theatrical aesthetic of Pirantello. The post war theatre: the movement of the absurd and the political theatre in the 1950's.


Objectives

A first contact with the different movements that influenced theatre such as Symbolism, Expressionism, Futurism, Dada and Surrealism.
