Developmental Psychology


The aim of this course is to present the process of human psychological development from conception to childhood. It presents all the basic concepts of child development and the prevailing theories of development.


Objectives

The aim of this course is to present the processes of human psychological development from conception direct to childhood. Students completing the course will know: The academic and research field of developmental psychology, the main theoretical approaches that have been expressed in the field of developmental psychology, the important developmental changes occurring in each period of life (from conception to childhood)

Syllabus

Introduction to the basic concepts of Developmental Psychology. Research methods and particular methodological and ethical problems of research development. Introduction to the theories of human development. Prenatal development and birth. H importance of early experiences on later development. Cognitive, emotional and social development during infancy, preschool and middle childhood.
