Heat Transfer I

The aim of the course is to understand the physical mechanisms of Heat Transfer, through the analysis of Fundamental Principles and Laws governing apparently approached to problem solving, which are presented in practice concerning the specialty of Engineering.

Objectives

At the end of the lecture, students are invited to: To have formed a clear picture of the thermal energy transfer mechanisms and be able to recognize and classify the nature of the reported problems in the appropriate category (treatment in Cartesian - cylindrical - spherical coordinates simple and complex walls with and without current, free and forced convection in internal - external flows and radiation). Have acquired the theoretical basis of mathematical analysis of problems, to calculate the most important parameters in heat transfer phenomena. Have sufficient knowledge for the transition studies in applied heat transfer issues, such as, for example, energy accreditation buildings.
