International Investments and International Trade


The purpose of the course is to provide students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills, necessary for understanding the functioning of the international trade and investments. More specifically, the course focuses on the analysis of the motives for international trade and investment, on the basis of the traditional and the contemporary theoretical frameworks. At the same time, the course includes an evaluation of various theoretical frameworks ability in predicting current trends in the internationalization of investment and trade. A study of the main tools of international investment analysis and international portfolio construction is also included. The course puts emphasis on the analysis of special types of international investment risks, such as country risk or contagion risk.
