Logistics Management


purpose of the course is the foittites understand issues in planning, design and operation of supply chain operations, current trends in supply chain management, and issues related to the optimization of service levels, the use of quantitative methods and applications for modeling and solving complex supply chain management problems, the role of new technologies in supply chain management, analyze the basic and supporting processes of logistics and evaluate the efficiency of logistics processes (Logistics) of a company.


Objectives

The course taught in separate modules and is designed for the students to be able to understand: issues related to programming the design and operation of supply chain operations current trends in supply chain management issues related to the optimization of service levels, the use of quantitative methods and applications for modeling and solving complex supply chain management problems the role of new technologies in supply chain management, analyze the key supporting processes of logistics and evaluate the efficiency of logistics processes (Logistics) of a company.

The contents of the course covers the following modules: Current trends in supply chain management, Logistics Management in an environment of Electronic Commerce (e-commerce). Basic and complementary functions of Logistics Management System (Logistics), Logistics Management in the wider field of services. Characteristics of products / services and organization requirements and design of the supply chain. The ordering system and customer service. Design of supply chain network and siting of storage facilities and distribution centers. Order management. Physical product distribution, transport processes and distribution products. Storage functions. Assignment Supply Management functions (Logistics) to third parties.
