Databases II


In Databases II lesson examined in depth the functions of a Data Base Management System (DBMS) and DBMS for text databases and geographical databases.


Objectives

Presentation of commercial database systems, understanding of advanced functions of database systems. Manage databases on the Internet. Upon successful completion of this course the student / her will be able to: Describe the work in a DBMS when filing a query Understand the potential problems that may arise because of concurrency when querying a commercial DBMS Design the necessary actions for DBMS concurrency control Compares architectures of DBMS Evaluate DBMS under design Describe the flow of information in distributed DBMS via the Internet Describe the syntax of XML and JSON Develop distributed database schemas Develop Geographic Information Systems Calculate data mining metrics

Syllabus

Basic characteristics and comparison of commercial database systems. Text management systems, output measurement, database models and their use in the enterprise. Object oriented databases, basic terms and their use in enterprise. Multi-layer databases, basic terms, methods of concretisation, their role in the analysis of enterprising data. The unified language of planning (UML). Triggers. Stored procedures. Indexing and Hashing. QBE. Database control techniques, Database recovery techniques, Security and control in databases, Enhanced data models for Advanced Applications, Distributed Databases and Client-Server architecture, XML - PHP and Databases on world wide web, Data mining, Basic characteristics and comparison of commercial database management systems. Object oriented Databases and basic terms.
