Objectives

The geochemistry is a branch of geological science that deals with the study of the chemistry of the earth (earth - chemicals). Subject of Geochemistry is firstly a detailed investigation and finding the appearance, concentration, dispersion and distribution of chemical elements and their isotopes in the various building blocks of the earth, on the other hand the study of the laws and rules governing the collection and mobility of various chemical elements in the Earth's sphere. Environmental Geochemistry is an area of ​​Geochemistry, who specializes in the practice of the authorities in the search for environmental indicators of environmental contamination from anthropogenic and natural sources, but the geochemical survey for exploring and identifying deposits. Upon successful completion of this course, the student should: - Understand the geochemical analyzes of soil samples, rock, water, biological material and air and to recognize the indicators data. - Performed typical chemical analyzes of rocks and minerals. - They plan and interpret maps geochemists critical areas mineral interest or principal environmental pollution by heavy metals. - Develop geochemical mapping programs and adequacy of redundancy of natural mineral resources. - Apply the geochemical research to contribute to the protection and restoration of the environment. - Contribute to the organization, development and operation of geochemical laboratories with a view to the exploration and study of environmental pollution.


Prerequisites

There is no prerequisite course is required. Desired considered knowledge in the courses "Chemistry - Chemical Engineering" and "Environmental Geology".
