Introduction to crystallography of Solids, Bragg Diffraction, Lattice Dynamics, Phonon Dispersion, Introduction to Atomic and Electronic Structure of Solids, Electronic Density of States, Classical Model of Solids, Extension of the Classical model of Solids – Semi-Classical Model of Solids, Structure and Materials Properties, Elctronic Density of States and Properties of Solids, Thermal and Electrical properties of Solids, Metals Semiconductors and Insulators.


Objectives

Learn: Basic elements of Solid State Physics, Connect this course with other, e.g. Modern Physics, Molecular Physics, Quantum Physics, Statistical Physics, e.t.c., in order to determine basic properties of Solids. Understanding of the Basic phenomena in Solids and prediction of their properties.
