Mathematics II

The course introduces students to basic concepts of first and upper class differential equations, to Laplace Transform and Fourier Transform. Also, emphasis is given on the applications of these disciplines to problems from the field of Electronics.

Objectives

The course aims to introduce students to basic concepts of first and upper class differential equations, Laplace Transform and Fourier Transform. Also, emphasis is given on applications of these disciplines to problems from the field of Electronics. Upon successful completion of this course the student should be able to: -Solve first order differential equations. -Study applications of differential equations in engineering problems, thermodynamics, circuits. -Find the independent solutions of a differential equation. -Solve higher order differential equations and differential equations systems. -Use Laplace transform to solve ordinary differential equations, systems of differential equations and also solve initial value problems. -Calculate the Fourier series of a function and resolve periodic problems with the aid of the Fourier series. -Be aware of key issues on series and power series of real numbers. -Study technological courses, formulate and solve computer problems in the field of Electronics.
