Management of Public Enterprises and Institutions


The course is the study of Management Science with an emphasis in the organization of the Public Administration of Public Enterprises and Organisations in Greece and familiarity with key institutions, the authorities and the configuration and operation procedures of Greek administrative system. The course focuses on the study of the administrative phenomenon, with particular reference to the specificity of the Public Administration. They examined pedigree and currents of modern Management Science and Public Administration as a social institution, the formation process, and the evidence of specificity as the state apparatus. Analyzed the bureaucratic model of organization and logic of its individual components.


Objectives

The course aims to introduce students and female students in the problems of management science, while giving an overview of the relationship of public administration with other social institutions and its evolutionary path. The course aims to introduce students to the science of public administration by examining key aspects such as: the organization of the government, the staffing system, the control of the Administration, Local and Regional Authorities, Public Management, Public Administration Business Strategy.

Syllabus

The course is the study of Management Science with emphasis on organization of public administration in Greece and familiarity with key institutions, the authorities and the configuration and operation procedures of Greek administrative system.   The course focuses on the study of the administrative phenomenon, with particular reference to the specificity of the Public Administration. They examined pedigree and currents of modern Management Science and Public Administration as a social institution, the formation process, and the evidence of specificity as the state apparatus. Analyzed the bureaucratic model of organization and logic of its individual components. Specifically, analyzed are the government institutions and government bodies in the functioning of the Greek political system, the forms and institutions of decentralization and regional administration of the state, the levels and functions of local government, essential for staff and the rules governing public servants in Greece, the structure and the public sector limits, independent authorities and forms of control of management and operation of information and effective action of public services. Then examine the changing role of the administration in the context of the welfare state and the most recent question. Also the government relations and legal analyzes, administration and politics, administration and society are different perceptions of the role of public administration and the nature of power. The course aims to introduce students and female students in the problems of management science, while giving an overview of the relationship of public administration with other social institutions and its evolutionary path.
