Environmental Geochemistry


In this course we examine the sources, distribution and interactions of chemical elements in the system rock- soil- water- atmosphere- biosphere. Emphasis is given on the characteristics and adverse effects of pollution on the natural environment as well as the study of environmental geochemistry applications in researching and finding solutions to environmental problems such as acid rock and mine drainage, solid mine waste, landfill leachate and climate change.
