Building II - Workshop


Approach to Building. Review all building work briefly. Introduction- Masonry (rules & artificial materials - disadvantages and advantages; openings in load toichous- toichon- investments epichrismata- anoflia- thresholds-window aprons). General introduction to the floor construction. Overview frames. Roofs. Introduction to roofing. Heating- cooling buildings naturally energy saving methods of heating buildings - fireplaces and hearths. Stairs. Functional forms, materials and assessment scales. Reforms and aesthetic corrections.


Objectives

Students can address the overall composition, manner of construction, the materials used in two standard types of buildings and produce construction details.
