Greek Foreign Policy


The main objective of the course is of becoming the students familiar with some certain topics of the contemnporary Greek foreign policy. The course focus on issues areas which are influenced by the modern globalization process which day by day are becoming important . As a consequence all these issues and dynamics have been includedin the current agenda of the foreign policy of a “small/medium” country like Greece .


Objectives

The student after following the course will be in a position: • To obtain a concrete knowledge for issues which are determine the contemporary agenda of Greek foreign policy. • To assess by a critical way the Greek foreign policy new agenda which contains traditional and non issues of Greece’s relations with neighbor countries as well as with countries of its wider geographical environment. • To use the theoretical knowledge and the methodological tools which the course offers, in order to analyse and assess critically many factors which determine Greek Foreign policy, especially during the last twenty years.

Political leadership and Greek foreign policy. The Decision making groups,elit and Greek foreign policy. Th Greek political system, the political parties and Greek foreign policy. The Greek economic diplomacy. National Security policy . International Public Law and foreign policy. NGOs , Mass Media and Public opinion. Case studies presentations and conclusions.
