Phonetics – Phonology applied to French language


Diagnostic assessment of the quality of pronunciation of students – Phonetics – Phonology – Description of the vocal organs and their contribution to the formation of sounds – Classification of the sounds of the French language – Recording of speaking through the international phonetic alphabet – Application of this knowledge in historical phonetics, in speech training (with exercises) and in Language Teaching.


Objectives

The aim of this course is • to offer to students knowledge about the basic principles of Phonetics and Phonology, • to offer them the chance to speak French with a right pronunciation, • to offer them knowledge about the basic principles of the oral evolution of languages, having the history of the French language as an example • to become capable of developing learning strategies in order to improve the pronunciation of the French Language.
