Introduction to Informatics


The course is an introduction to modern computer science. It becomes presentation hardware (hardware), including data storage options, digital design and classic architecture of a computer system and basic operating principles. It demonstrates the role of software (Software) and analyzes the different types of software. He introduces the student to basic algorithmic thinking to the study of algorithms in pseudocode. Finally provides the basic knowledge of networks, the Internet and the Web


Objectives

Upon completion of the laboratory course the student / her should be able to: • moving effectively on the computer desktop, manage and organize files, copy, move and delete subdirectories / folders. It should be able to handle icons and windows and use search features, simple editing tools and print management facilities provided within the operating system. • perform basic operations associated with creating, editing and completion of a document ready for use. To use advanced applications such as creating tables, using pictures and images within a document, importing objects and mail merge. • to handle their basic spreadsheet applications, creating, forming and using. Also, they should be able to perform certain mathematical operations using basic formulas and functions and also handles more advanced applications such as inserting objects, creating graphs and charts. • be able to create, edit and complete a presentation, ready to use, it can move between a range of options so that the presentations created can be addressed to various groups of people from different backgrounds. In addition, you should be able to create charts and graphs accompanied by a variety of special effects.
