Electrical Machines


DC generators and motors: wiring, operating principles, conversion, characteristic, selection, injury, adjust the engine rotation speed. Synchronous generator and motor: wiring, operating principles, conversion, characteristic, selection, damage, power factor correction. Asynchronous squirrel cage motor: starting methods. Asynchronous daktylioforos engine: Characteristic, losses measurement and performance grade. Installation and motor connection. Asynchronous single-phase motors (with resistor - capacitor): boot methods, change the direction of rotation. AC motors function as a single phase, change of direction of rotation.


Objectives

The transmission of high and adequate infrastructure knowledge to enable graduates to approach the modern and high technology of electrical machines and be able to monitor the evolution of the various forms of the specialty courses and also contribute to future technological developments. After successful completion of the course students should • understand fundamental concepts and laws of electric and magnetic fields relating to the operation of electrical machines • understand the structure and function of the various forms of direct and alternating current generators and motors (single and three phase) • be aware of the standards of maintenance and part detection and fault repair • be able to assemble electrical machines circuits and conduct various sizes measurements with analog and digital instruments • to extract general conclusions through graphical and / or computational treatment of measurements • to assess the quantitative accuracy of the final results and to prepare a written report.
