Human-Computer Interaction and Usability


The module deals with the basic human-computer interaction approaches.


Objectives

The student sould understand some of the following topics: 1. the introductory concepts of human computer interaction. 2. the position and characteristics of human communication / interaction with the computer. 3. the basic facts on a computer system . 4. basic concepts of user interaction with the system. 5. the basic interaction design elements . 6. the development stages of an interactive product. 7. the drawing rules interfaces . 8. the essential characteristics of hierarchical analyzes . 9. cognitive models. 10. the parties affected by a system and know the main koinonikotechnika models of human-computer communication . 11. the importance of evaluation in the design of a system.

Syllabus

The course deals with the basic conceptual approaches to human computer interaction. In particular , the following topics are analyzed : introductory concepts of interaction, main entities in human-computer interaction , the process of interaction design, software technology in human-computer interaction, design rules , hierarchical task analysis , cognitive models, socio-technological models concerned parts and design evaluation.
