The course aims to introduce the first-year student / wo of the Department of Accounting and Finance of the University of Piraeus TT in Computer using two basic tools (1), the spreadsheet software MS Excel, and (2) the programming language Visual Basic. Students practiced on laboratory part with both these tools giving greater weight to the first.

Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course the student / her should be able / or: • Know the basic work done during the software development and the importance of planning in the whole development • Be familiar with the basic elements of the architecture of a computer system and be able to explain how to run a program from the / Y • Know what network and what the Internet and the importance of the TCP / IP protocols • To use data processing techniques through the MS Excel spreadsheets editing software • Make use of structured programming techniques using the programming language Visual Basic.
