Information and Communication Technology in Education


Students will be familiar with the main approaches concerning the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the educational process. They will develop skills in using educational applications with computers.


Objectives

Aim: Students will be familiar with the main approaches to the introduction and integration of Information and Communications Technologies in the educational process as well as the main models of ICT introduction to education. They will develop the basic skills in using current educational applications with computers.

Models for introducing ICT in the educational process Introduction of ICT in educational settings Review and assessment of current practices in the international and Greek educational context Study of the integration of Informatics in Greek compulsory education Learning theories and applications of ICT in education Educational applications with computers (drill and practice software, tutorials, educational multimedia, hypermedia, simulations, virtual reality, robotics, social media, web 2.0 applications)
