Business Statistics I

The course aims to introduce students to the basic principles of probability theory and descriptive statistics with emphasis on the use of new technologies (especially using appropriate software) regarding business administration. Upon successful completion of this course the student should be able: To apply basic probability theory principles to log probability laws by statistical inference, identify the main types of random variables and record data to be processed, calculate and interpret descriptive summary measures, to explore the relationship between economic variables using the techniques of correlation and regression methods, to carry out applications of descriptive statistics and regression using statistical software packages.
