Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to: understand the basic elements of the model theory of simple and multiple linear regression and has the ability to estimate a model of simple and multiple linear regression with the help of computer. Understand the consequences of violating basic assumptions of the linear regression model and the estimation methods in these cases and has the ability to implement them. Understand the role and utility of qualitative variables and the ability to utilize in an econometric model. Can interpret and analyze results from both statistical and financial aspects and to consider the impact of certain policies and/or to make predictions.
