Body language and speech: the contribution of theatre in class


This course approaches, analyses and uses facts and actions of Theatre that can be utilized in Education. The basic facts that constitute the theatre ‘language’ are the meaning through the body, vocal and verbal actions, the critical thought and the body-speech control. These facts also constitute the teacher’s ‘language’. So, this course offers theatrical theory and exercises which are essential for the creation of the theatrical characters. Through this procedure, future teachers can improve their speech, their body language and become more perceptive. Having these abilities, they can encourage theatrical actions in classroom which can be used for teaching.
