Environmental Meteorology and Air Quality Models

This course general data for the earth's atmosphere are presented and discussed involving an environmental engineer. The earth's energy balance is analyzed in combination with the greenhouse effect. Particular emphasis is placed on thermodynamic processes of the atmospheric air and on the governing equations of the movement of air masses in the atmospheric boundary layer. Furthermore, atmospheric statistic analysis is presented as well as the analysis of weather systems.

Objectives

In this course general data for the earth's atmosphere are analyzed concerning the environmental engineering. Meteorological parameters are explained. Meteorological data analysis proceedures are presented. The meteorology is connected with air pollution themes and with climate change

Prerequisites

The student must have knowledge on equation solving systems and basic heat transfer effects.
